Lilla Sparks is a first-year MA student in Cinema and Media Studies. She received her BA in Cinematic Arts (Critical Studies) from the University of Southern California, where she also studied Screenwriting and Criminology. Lilla’s primary research focuses on the depiction of cultural liminality and liminal spaces in cinema, with an emphasis on immigrant narratives. Her interests also include cultural theory, political cinema, global art cinema, and Central European cinema. As a filmmaker, Lilla is currently in production on a feature documentary.
