Madeline Hawk is a Ph.D. student in the Division of Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Southern California. She previously earned her M.A. in Cinema and Media Studies at USC and a B.A. from DePauw University in English Literature and Film Studies. She is a Fulbright Recipient, awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in South Korea. Her research is invested in the relation between Korean national trauma and its diasporic communities, and how national trauma is manifest in Korean contemporary media and pop culture.
