CRISTIAN LOPEZ grew up in South El Monte, California and earned his B.A. at the University of California, Riverside in Media and Cultural Studies. While attending UC Riverside, Cristian studied abroad in Tokyo Japan with Professor Setsu Shigematsu. After graduating from UC Riverside Cristian was selected to pursue an internship in Washington D.C. with the UCDC program where he worked as a Digital Collections intern at the non-profit organization Humanities DC. Later, Cristian worked as a production assistant in Culver City at the Visual Effects studio, Framestore. There he developed an interest in cinematography and live-action production. Cristian is currently a master’s student at University of Southern California. He works as a teaching assistant and studies Latinx film and media with a focus on race and representation. Cristian identifies as Chicano and is proud of his Mexican-American heritage.
