HANNAH SOEBBING holds a BA in Film Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, where, despite the city’s legacy as the birthplace of the automotive industry, the roads are far less busy than in Los Angeles. Before joining USC’s MA program in Cinema and Media Studies, she worked as a college writing tutor with an academic bridge program at her alma mater. She has also contributed writing for the blog of Kino Club 313, a Detroit-based student-run film studies organization. Hannah’s research interests include new media studies, space and place, and U.S. visual culture.
