Laurel Rogers

LAUREL ROGERS holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of British Columbia, where her undergraduate honours thesis examined neo- and post-colonial rhetoric in the scifi television show Stargate: Atlantis. While at UBC, she facilitated a student-directed seminar on science fiction, theory and, popular culture. She also acted as the submissions editor for The Garden Statuary, an undergraduate English journal, as well as an associate editor and editor-in-chief of UBC’s Sojourners: Undergraduate Journal of Sociology. Before joining the CAMS department in 2017, she worked at the Vancouver Public Library. Her current research interests include interactive media, science fiction, superheroes, transmedia storytelling, and fan studies.
