DAN LARK is a first year PhD student in cinema and media studies at the University of Southern California. He received his B.A. in anthropology from the University at Buffalo and completed his Master’s in cinema and media studies at USC. Dan’s primary research interests center around how people code their cultural ideas and desires into apps and web platforms and the question of why the internet seems like a battlefield. His interests also include video games, television, live-streaming, ethnography, science and technology studies (STS), and cultural theory.
